This spring we wanted to find a solution to a question our customers have repeatedly asked us – How do I improve my extremely dry skin? For many that’s probably a question only asked during the winter months. But if very dry skin is something that you face all year-long, then you’ll probably want to hear all about our new Illuminating Body Scrub & Polish.

Dehydrated skin looks dull, aged and can even have a cracked appearance. What more incentive did we need to look to the power of pure Caribbean organic ingredients? Coupled with sea salts and seaweed extracts we’ve created a luxe body scrub and moisturizer that will scrub away dead skin, deliver intense hydration and reveal a beautifully radiant look – naturally!

Once you embrace the therapeutic aroma of fresh cut lemongrass, you just might feel like you are there; basking under the warmth of the summer sun and cooling off as a gentle breeze sweeps through the long fragrant grass. Our brand new Illuminating Body Scrub & Polish in lemongrass is the latest to join our tropical skincare range.

As summer comes around we want to feel rejuvenated. It’s the season to visibly glow with more vibrant looking skin and feel more beautiful inside and out. Featuring our unique blend of aromatic essential oils enriched in a thick buttery consistency of organic Caribbean coco butter and infused into a blend of sea salts to refine surface skin and stimulate circulation.

Following the great response to our existing body scrub we knew that a more concentrated scrub would appeal to those looking for a solution to dry-skin. Our sea salts offer a great solution for deep cleansing, coco butter is an incredible moisturizer and astaxanthin offers significant anti-aging abilities.

Cocos nucifera (Virgin coconut butter) - coconut butter restores moisture and speeds up skin renewal. Its natural anti-bacterial properties help kill bacteria, remove dead skin, prevent breakouts and brighten and smooth your complexion to leave it silky smooth. On its own, coco butter can be a bit thick, but blended with sunflower oil and sea salt allows this blend to spread beautifully across the skin for a seamless application process. When finished, you’ll also benefit from a closer shave.

Astaxanthin red algae - is a powerful antioxidant which defends your skin’s DNA against environmental aging factors including U/V exposure to restore its youthful appearance. As an anti-inflammatory agent it reduces skin redness and calms down skin rashes and irritation, and as Dr Fryda (a veteran of research and development of marine-based skin and body care) explains, astaxanthin stacks up well against other known antioxidants: 65 times more powerful than vitamin C, 54 times stronger than beta-carotene and 800 times stronger than CoQ10. The addition of astaxanthin in our latest scrub & polish, makes the fight against fine lines and wrinkles more visible and, in some, after just two weeks of regular use. Don’t be alarmed if the seaweed has slightly stained your skin, it washes off easily with a gentle cleanser like our Enriching Body Bar in Coconut Water.

Lemongrass essential oil – this scent is exactly what we need to ease us into the upcoming summer months. A delicious citrusy and crisp aroma with earthy undertones provides mental clarity; stress relieving and calming with the added benefit of refreshing the senses. Altogether this scent will help to leave you feeling clean, refreshed and energized – maybe encouraging us to take a virtual tropical getaway. This combination of relaxing and rejuvenating is perfect in a body scrub and polish that can be used as part of a regular bathing ritual or an invigorating hand-scrub. The Scrub & Polish is the second product in which we use astaxanthin and lemongrass. Our Moisture Rich Body Oil is a great day/night head-to-toe body oil with serum quality. It can be used interchangeably with the Illuminating Body Scrub & Polish depending on the intensity of rehydration needed. The Scrub & Polish should be used no more than twice a week, while the Body Oil can be used daily. Both are suitable for normal, to very dry skin types. Though those with sensitive skin should be cautious, the exfoliant in this formula is sea salt which maybe too abrasive to be used on your skin.
